Gary Tallman's Montana Woodpile Artistry

womansday

Montana resident Gary Tallman doesn't just stack his firewood,
he deliberately places each log, creating a gorgeous piece of art in the process.
Using several types of wood in different shades, he puts together these mosaics,
most often featuring the owls that live in the woods surrounding Gary's home.

A Very Merry Christmas!

LittleLifeDesigns

From Anne Graham Lotz~
"Christmas is a celebration of God’s gift of Jesus to you and me.
The living Word became flesh!
The Creator left His throne in Heaven, and came to earth as the Baby of Bethlehem!
What a heavenly crescendo it was to the angels’ song on that starry night so long ago…
Glory to God in the highest…
as the glory of God was made visible in the lowest of the low,
a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

Barb Clarke

A wish that the joy of Christmas will fill your hearts with love
as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Much love, LuAnn

The Delicious "Foodnited States of America"

Chris Durso writes a food culture blog called "Foodiggity."
His 8-year-old son came up with the idea to create a US map
made of food, nicknaming each of the 50 states with a clever food pun.
The "Foodnited States of America" was the result!
What a great father-son project!

Hungry for some fun geography?

And of course, a shout-out to my home state!

Twiggy & Opal's Colorful Modern Quilts

Unlike most stories I've come across about folks who've learned a craft
from their grandmothers or moms, Jayne's daughter taught her to quilt.
She discovered "a passion she never knew she had"
and soon started her own business~ Twiggy & Opal.

She lets the fabric take the lead while creating fantastic geometric patterns.
Always inspired by color, her works have a fresh, modern flair!

Jayne doesn't stop at quilts; she also makes
wall hangings, pillows, baby quilts and table runners.

These are my Twiggy & Opal favorites~

It's a Norman Rockwell Christmas!

savoringsimplicity

I've always loved Norman Rockwell's paintings!
Come to think of it, who doesn't love them?
They're true Americana.

Rockwell illustrates real, honest-to-goodness people
in relatable, everyday circumstances,
with old fashioned charm, humor and warmth.
And he always leaves us with a smile!

Here are several of his Christmas paintings.
They're sure to bring some warm fuzzies!

The Fun Animal Illustrations of Ashley Percival

The owls were the first to grab my attention.
So cute and quirky and endearing. I couldn't resist them.
Not to mention their eye glasses!

Artist Ashley Percival of the UK illustrates children's art.
Owls, pugs and sloths are among his favorite subjects.

These animals are all quite hip and lovable!
Wearing cozy sweaters (OK - jumpers, Ashley)
and ball caps turned backwards,
they're ready to have a good time on bikes or skateboards.
Such a friendly bunch!

Here's where you can find lots more
of Ashley's terrific art:
