Our Visit to Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens

magicgardens1

Isaiah Zagar is the artist responsible for covering a half-block of South Street
in Philadelphia, PA with a mosaic creation like no other.
Part indoor gallery and part outside sculpture garden, it totals 3,000 square feet.
Tiles, statuary, mirrors, glass bottles, vases, bicycle wheels, plates, pottery.
Over a period of 14 years, Isaiah dug down and built up, making stairways
and tunnels through this little world of art that was fascinating to explore.
We were set for an adventure and that's just what we got!

Located at 1020 South Street, the Magic Gardens can be partially seen by passers-by,
but is sectioned off by this wall and ornamental iron gates.
You may have noticed it as you've walked or driven by - hard to miss!

A popular attraction- there was a waiting line to get inside.

Especially stunning when the sun was at an angle to shine through the glass!
